Mount Baker - July 31-Aug 2, 2010

Here are a few pictures and a quick video from our recent summit of Mount Baker. In brief, we all had a fantastic time and all felt excellent on both the ascent and descent. I believe that the P90X workouts I have been doing for the past week definately helped to build up my endurance ahead of time. This time I actually enjoyed the hike up. This was a strange feeling for me!

My ankle (which I injured in late June) still bothered me but it was much better than I expected and it did not seem to hinder my progress much. After our summit I took an icy cold walk through the mountain stream to minimize any swelling (sooooooo cold!!!)

We had hoped to meet Devin's brother Derek up at camp (or somewhere along the way) but unfortunately he was delayed and never made it down to Mount Baker. We had also been hoping that our friends Chris and Doug would hike up to camp for a visit but they too were unable to come as the last minute.

  2. Hi Tara and Devin: Just catching up. The movie is wonderful although my heart does flip-flops when I see the deep crevasses. Tara,I'm happy your ankle is finally pain-free. Devin, I rely on you to take good care of my little granddaughter.
Keep safe and enjoy the adventure of preparation. Love always.
